How we earn

If you buy through a “See it at…” link, the shop may pay us a commission. It does not change your price. In Italy we use the Amazon Associates programme: as an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. For the UK and Germany we may use The Safe Shop through Awin.

Where the grades come from

Every burglary grade and every fire class is copied from a certificate or the maker’s own page and carries a link to its source. We never infer a grade from a product title. Models with no published grade stay on the list and are marked as such.

Prices

An Amazon price is the price on that Amazon page on the date shown. The link opens Amazon, and the price there at purchase is the one that applies. Where Amazon is not showing a price, the row says “Price at Amazon”. Every other shop price is one we noted, with the date.

Insurance

A grade is not a policy. The insurer decides what is covered. Guide figures from makers and trade associations are indicative and not binding.

Statistics

We count page views, clicks to shops and the filters people use. We use no cookies and store no IP address: only a daily code that cannot be traced back to a person.
